Thanks to the fact that my primary school introduced local kids to various disciplines of winter sports, I discovered cross country skiing when I was 8 years old. From there I started going to our local ski club with my friends. Our coaches at the "Ski club Capcir Haut-Conflent" were Bruno and Claudine Magdinier, who also trained Martin and Simon Fourcade in their formative years. I loved it straight away because their style of ski sessions were always based around having fun; off-piste adventures (even on cross country skis) and building jumps with Bruno's snow shovel! We learnt a lot about the outdoors, developed our balance through ski games as well as being taught the finer techniques of classic and skate cross country skiing.
